1. What is eBookSelf?

eBookSelf is a digital self-publishing and ebook marketplace that allows authors to publish independently and readers to discover and purchase ebooks in multiple formats, without traditional publishing barriers.

2. Is eBookSelf free to use?

• Readers: Browsing is free; you only pay for the ebooks you choose to buy.

• Authors: Creating an author account is free. Platform fees apply only when a book is sold.

3. Who can use eBookSelf?

Anyone aged 18 years or older can register as a reader or author. Authors from India and abroad are welcome, subject to applicable tax and legal requirements.

4. What ebook formats do you support?

We support EPUB and PDF formats, compatible with most smartphones, tablets, laptops, and e-readers.

5. Can I read ebooks on multiple devices?

Yes. Your purchased ebooks remain in your “My Library” and can be accessed across supported devices using your account.

6. Do I need an internet connection to read?

An internet connection is required to download the ebook. Once downloaded, most ebooks can be read offline, subject to DRM restrictions.

7. Can I share or resell purchased ebooks?

No. Ebooks are licensed for personal use only. Sharing, copying, or redistributing content violates our Terms & Conditions and copyright laws.

8. Are refunds available for ebooks?

Refunds are generally not available for digital content, except in specific cases such as:

• Technical defects

• Incorrect product description

• Accidental duplicate purchases

9. Who can publish on eBookSelf?

Any author who owns the rights to their content can publish—fiction writers, educators, researchers, and independent creators.

10. Do I retain ownership of my book?

Yes. You retain 100% ownership of your intellectual property.
eBookSelf only receives a non-exclusive license to distribute your ebook.

11. How long does publishing take?

Most ebooks can be published within minutes once formatting and details are completed. Some content may be reviewed for quality or legal compliance.

12. How much royalty do authors earn?

Authors receive high industry-leading royalties, visible transparently in the Author Dashboard. Exact percentages depend on pricing and promotions.

13. How and when do I get paid?

Royalties are paid directly to your registered bank account after applicable taxes. Payout timelines are displayed in your dashboard.

14. Can I set my own ebook price?

Yes. Authors have full pricing control and can update prices at any time.

15. Can I remove or update my ebook?

Yes. You can edit metadata, update files, or unpublish your ebook through your author account.

16. What payment methods are supported?

We accept:

17. Is my data secure?

Yes. We use SSL/TLS encryption, secure servers, and DRM protection.
Your data is handled in compliance with the DPDP Act, 2023.

18. How do you protect authors from piracy?

We use Digital Rights Management (DRM), access tracking, and monitoring to reduce unauthorized copying and distribution.

19. What if someone uploads pirated content?

We take copyright violations seriously. Content is removed promptly upon verification under applicable copyright and IT laws.
